  Present Simple

• V1 (-s- he, she, it)/do, does … V1
• usually, always,often, sometimes, seldom, as a rule, never
• обычные, регулярные, последовательные действия и состояния в настоящем 

He usually comes home at 6. It is hot in summer.

Present Continuous

• ​am/is/are Ving
• now, at present moment, still
• действие в процессе, происходящее в момент речи 

​Look, Ann is playing with the dog.

• временное действие в течение какого-то периода 

​I am staying at my friend’s at present.

• упрек, обида, раздражение 

​Why are you complaining all the time?

Present Perfect

• have/(he, she, it) has V3(ed)
• already, just, yet, ever, never, lately, recently, so far, since, for, today, always
• ситуация в настоящем; действие закончено, имеется его результат; нет указаний на прошлое 

I have bought a dress, it is nice. This is the most interesting film I have ever seen.It is the first time I have seen it.

• с указателями времени since, for, how long с глаголами, не употребляющимися в длительных временах

I have been here for 2 hours.I have known him for 10 years.

Present Perfect Continuous

• have/has been Ving
• for 2 hours, since 2 o’clock, for a long time, how long? since when?
• действие, которое началось в прошлом и длится до настоящего в течение какого-то периода

​She is tired. She has been cleaning the rooms since morning.

Повествование в прошлом

Past Simple

• ​V2(ed)/did …V1
• yesterday, last week, a year ago, the other day, never
• последовательные действия в прошлом

​Tom came home. He took out a key and opened the door.

• действия, не связанные с настоящим, закончившиеся в прошлом, с указанием точного времени

They visited their uncle last week.

Past Continuous

• was/were Ving
• yesterday at 5 o’clock,from 6 till 7,the whole day,when he V2,while he was Ving
• действие в процессе, происходившеев определённый момент в прошлом

I was writing a letter at 5 o’clock yesterday.

• прошедшее действие впроцессе, прерываемоедругим, одномоментным действием

​The boy was watching TV when the telephone rang.

• два или больше одновременных действия в процессе

​The girl was reading a book  while her sister was watching TV.

Past Perfect

• had  V3(ed)
• by that time, by 2 o’clock yesterday, before he V2, after
• прошедшее действие, происшедшее до какого-то момента или другого действия в прошлом

​They had finished dinner by 5 o’clock yesterday. They had finished dinner before I came yesterday.

Past Perfect Continuous

• had been  Ving
• for 2 hours since he V2, how long? since when?
• действие, которое длилось до какого-то момента либо другого действия в прошлом в течение определённого периода

When I came last Saturday they were tired because they had been working in the garden for 2 hours.

Выражение будущего действия

Повествование в настоящем

Future Simple

• (I, we) shall/will V1
• tomorrow, next year, in 2 hours, some day, never
• последовательные действия в будущем

I’ll do the work and then​ I’ll go for a walk.

• решение принимается в момент речи

​It is cold. I’ll put on my sweater.

• мнение говорящего, предсказание

I think our team will win.

• угроза, обещание, 

I’ll tell your parents about your bad behavior.

Future Continuous

• shall/will be Ving
• tomorrow at 5 o’clock, from 6 till 7, the whole day, when he V1, while he is Ving
• действие в процессе, которое будет происходить в  определённый момент в будущем

I will be swimming in the sea at this time tomorrow.

• привычное действие в будущем

I’ll be going to the library tomorrow. I go there every Monday.

• вежливый вопрос о планах (с целью попросить о помощи)

Will you be going past the post-office? Could you post this letter?

Future Perfect

• shall/will  have  V3(ed)
• tomorrow by 2 o’clock, before he V1, after
• будущее действие, которое закончится до какого-то момента или другого действия в будущем​

They will have finished dinner by 5 o’clock tomorrow.

They will have finished dinner  before I come tomorrow.

Future Perfect Continuous

• shall/will have been Ving
• for 2 hours since he V1, how long? since when?
• действие, которое будет длиться до какого-то момента либо другого действия в будущем в течение определённого периода

When I come tomorrow she will have been working in the garden for 2 hours.

Present Continuous

• am/is/are Ving
• заранее запланированное действие (я с кем-то договорился)

I am meeting my friends tonight. My aunt is coming to visit us.

be going to V1

• собираться (я сам планирую)

​Tom is ill. We are going to visit him. 

• очевидно по обстановке

Look at the clouds, it is going to rain.

Present Simple

• V1 (-s- he, she, it)/do, does … V1
• о расписании поездов, началe матчей, фильмов и т. д.

The train arrives at 12.30 tomorrow.

• в придаточных предложениях времени и условия для выражения будущего действия

​If the weather is good tomorrow, we’ll go to the country. 

Повествование в прошлом

• Для выражения будущего действия, о котором повествуется в прошлом, употребляются времена Future-in-the-Past (Simple, Continuous, Perfect, Perfect Continuous Active/Passive). Особенностью этих времён является употребление вспомогательных глаголов should/would с соответствующей формой основного глагола. Подробнее см. раздел «Косвенная речь».

The teacher said that the pupils would be asked at the next lesson.
